About

The Collection

No. 27 jewelry utilizes materials sourced worldwide and is made in my Philadelphia studio. Many of my pieces incorporate vintage elements with materials that are also repurposed such as belt leather, vintage chain or various metals. This “recycled” approach to creating new jewelry not only gives life to something once discarded but also presents a unique, one-of-a-kind piece for the wearer.

I also work in sterling, copper and brass, creating jewelry, holiday ornaments and hanging decor in these metals. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques such an enameling and metal patinas.

I am always happy to create custom pieces for my clients, be it creating new pieces from treasured family vintage jewelry or something completely new. I have worked with many brides as well, creating jewelry for the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride and flower girl.

Kind Words and Mentions...

"When my mother gave me a box full of my grandmother's old costume jewelry, I wanted to repurpose it rather than let it collect dust in storage. I approached Shelly with this extremely personal project, and she went above and beyond to turn my vision into a reality. I brought her a jewelry tray brimming with clip-on earrings, pins, pendants, bracelets and necklaces, and she carefully combed through it all to find the perfect materials to reinvent. Shelly sketched out creative and thoughtful ideas, and worked with me to ensure that the finished products would meet and exceed my expectations. I wanted to surprise each of the women in my family with a meaningful and elegant piece of jewelry for Christmas that would make them think of my grandmother whenever they wore it, and Shelly made that wish possible. If you're searching for a talented, independent artisan who can design one-of-a-kind jewelry with a mix of modern sensibility and vintage flair, look no further than Shelly and the no. 27 collection. She's a real gem!"

"After looking at the no. 27 collection, I knew I wanted Shelly to design the jewelry for my wedding. She created earrings that were a perfect blend of crystals, beads, and fresh water pearls that matched my dress perfectly! I loved them so much I also asked her to make jewelry for each of my bridesmaids. Shelly fashioned a different piece for each of them, meeting their specific requests (including a metal allergy). If any bride-to-be asked me if I would recommend the no 27 collection, I would say 'I do!'"

"Shelly, from the no. 27 collection, did a phenomenal job for my wedding. I told her the basic style I wanted for my bridesmaids and she created beautiful citrine drop earrings that complemented their dresses perfectly. She even accomodated one woman who did not have pierced ears. The earrings came in pretty satchels and the women were all thrilled. (I hear all the time how the ladies still wear their earrings out to dinner.) The best part was the sparkly little bracelets she made for my two flower girls - they were giddy with excitement over those bracelets. I would highly recommend Shelly's work to anyone, whether planning a wedding or just looking for a great piece of jewelry for any occasion. She really listened to what I wanted, delivered on time, and crafted high quality, wearable works of art!"
